#Forsaken by Sierra Kincaid tour with #guestpost and #giveaway

His job is to find her, not to fall for her…

Marsella Talent has been on the run for two years, ever since her father thrust a ledger into her hands and told her to run from the police swarming their family restaurant. Now, with the cops and her father’s men desperate to get their hands on the book, she knows she can never go home.

Jake never thought he’d see Marsella again, not after he helped her escape the night of the sting operation targeting her father, August Talent. So when he stumbles upon a mysterious woman named Cassie, the spitting image of Marsella, he knows he has to gain her trust to finally make up for the mistake he made years ago.

Only the closer he gets to her, the more irresistible he finds her. And soon he realizes he’ll have to make a choice—prove his loyalty by getting back the ledger, or save the woman that he’s growing to love…

Thanks so much to the author for stopping by to tell us about herself today.

What’s one thing that readers would be surprised to find out about you?

Hi there! Thank you for having me, Ashley!

I think something readers might be surprised to learn about me is that I also publish under a different name! I’ve been writing young adult novels for several years as Kristen Simmons. Five books are currently out, the ARTICLE 5 trilogy, THE GLASS ARROW, and METALTOWN. All of them are set in dystopian environments, and deal with social justice issues—freedom to choose your own beliefs and values, women’s rights, and sweatshop labor, just to name a few. They’re all very action-oriented and character-driven, and they all involve a common thread you also see in my adult (very adult!) books: romance.

I’ve always enjoyed writing love stories, regardless the setting. I love writing the dynamics between people and the power of friendship, but I think most of all I love bringing two people together who don’t know how much they need each other. I like the stakes of putting a couple in a situation where they’re doomed to fail, and giving them a driving reason to get together and stay together. In FORSAKEN, Jake and Marsella come from different worlds, but are bound together by her father—the gangster Jake used to work for. When Jake finds Marsella years after her father’s fall, living in small-town Ohio under the name Cassie, he remembers all the reasons he’s never been able to let her go. He’s always been drawn to her, though now he finds himself vowing to do the one thing he couldn’t before—to protect her from the men who’ll do anything to bring her in. That’s the kind of story I love, a high-stakes plot, regardless if it’s young adult or adult, where reluctance turns to romance, and trust builds the way to love.

I hope you enjoy FORSAKEN! Thanks for reading!
