 Blurb:
The hunter just became the hunted. . .

Evan O’Reilly was used to fighting demons. A bounty hunter for the underworld, he was always precise. Efficient. Ruthless. But that was before he had to battle with his own.

Being a powerful deity had its advantages, and Alethia, goddess of wind and shadows, was thankful she could watch over her friend completely undetected. That was, until his carelessness began to garner the wrong kind of attention, leaving her no choice but to step in.

Now, Evo is being hunted by his own kind, closely followed by a revenge hungry demon. He is on the run, and Alethia is running with him. While passion ignites, and tension threatens to tear them apart, they discover that there is something far more sinister after Evo‘s soul. As Alethia fights for him, she is forced to face an agonizing truth: to save him, she may have to lose him forever.

A story about love and sacrifice, Evo is the first book in the Divine Hunter World series of books that focus on the much loved characters from the Divine Hunter series.

authorljL.J. Sealey was born and raised in a little Welsh town by the sea. It rains a lot, so she often has a great excuse to sit at her writing desk and while away the hours at her laptop.

She still lives in N.Wales and when she’s not travelling around the country working with her husband – who is a professional singer – or singing backup vocals herself, she likes to read and watch her favourite TV shows which normally includes plenty of CSI, The Vampire Diaries and endless amounts of sitcoms. Being addicted to reading about vampires, demons, shifters and angels, she has always had a thing for all things paranormal and is a big sucker for impossible love stories. So it was inevitable that when she started writing herself she would mix the two together.

The Reaper Series brings us into the world of reapers, death, grim and gory and in the flesh, mostly. Each of the three books follows a different reaper, so they can actually be enjoyed individually as well as read together as a series.
Book 1, Reap and Repent, introduces us to Deacon and Ruth.  They each have their secrets and their own battles to deal with, but when they meet one another things start to click.  As you might expect, there are certainly rules about Reaper/mortal entanglements, but don’t they always say “rules are meant to be broken?”  This was full of humor and sexiness, sure to please any die hard fans of Death.
Book 2, Reap and Redeem, is a little darker, since our main Reaper here, Kylen, has been enslaved by an evil power and has lost his love.  Enter one damsel in distress, Olivia, and you’ve got a formula for trouble….or maybe it’s exactly what he’s been looking for!  I felt the relationship between our hero and heroine was a bit more believable in this second installment, as their circumstances for coming together were rather unusual and would lend themselves to a more hurried romance.
Book 3, Reap and Reveal, was actually my favorite strictly because of the role reversal, and the added twist of having humans who are not quite human, not quite supe.  Nate has special abilities, but Maeve is actually the reaper in this story.  True to the title, we also learn some more about the world the Reapers come from and what their role in the human realm truly means, as well as the risks they take by becoming involved.
There are certainly possibilities for more titles, and I’d enjoy reading them, which is just about the best compliment you can give to an ongoing series.  The stories weren’t 100% predictable, though at times I did have some moments where I felt a bit too much was insinuated, thus given away.  The characters draw you to their work and their love, making you feel a connection that is often lacking in paranormal romance.  Each book has it’s ups and downs, but I certainly would give Book 1 and 2 4 stars and Book 3 5 stars! making this a 4.5 star series!

I enjoyed the story of Suzie and her friends, but felt that there were a few things missing.  For instance, a bit less explanation of why things are the way they are, and more explanation of how she reacts to this rather bizarre world would have given us more insight into Suzie’s personality.  At times I felt like I understood her naivety, but often I felt that she was unrealistically unaware of typical social expectations.  On the plus side, the magical world had me rather intrigued so I picked this up and didn’t want to stop reading until I was finished!  Overall, this was a fun fantasy with engaging world building and amusing characters.  With a bit of polishing this 3.5 star read could easily reach 5 star status!  Recommended for readers of fantasy lore, and those who like a nice adventure!

First and foremost, I think it should be said that this book on its own would be rather enjoyable, thus it’s not entirely necessary to have read any of the Judgment of the Six books, but I think you’d get the best experience by reading [Hope]less first, before Clay’s Hope.
While I certainly didn’t hate Clay in Gabby’s eyes, I now understand him more and completely adore him.  In this companion novel we not only get his point of view on several important events from [Hope]less, but we also find out just what he was up to while Gabby was not around, and how he really thought of and saw her.  It’s beautiful, heartbreaking, and ultimately satisfying in a way I hadn’t expected.  Too often having someone else’s POV thrown into one book makes it difficult to read, especially when there’s so much rehashing.  By bringing Clay’s thoughts into their own book, we not only get treated to his inner workings, but how he saw things around him, before and during his time with Gabby.  Never did I find myself bored or thinking “just get on with it,” I was utterly engrossed from the moment I picked up Clay’s Hope to read.  If you’d like to take a glimpse at a wholly original werewolf and human community, this book is for you!  (Oh and since it’s only 99 cents and [Hope]less is still free, there’s no reason not to pick up both!  It may be obvious at this point, but this is certainly a 5 star read!

EXCERPT:

“Victor! Down,” Tie yelled.

I shut my eyes and held tight to Victor as he dove on his side with me cradled in his arms. The school’s immaculate lawn erupted into flame a few feet behind us and to the left. I looked for Tie and Angie. They’d landed to our right. Victor shot up fast, still managing to carry me, and broke through the front doors with an insane amount of force. Looking back, I saw the front doors barely hanging on their hinges. Tie stepped through them with Angie thrown over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. She was still yelling at him to put her down. We rounded a corner of the hallway and waited for Tie and Angie to catch up.

“Where to now, oh fearless leader?” Tie asked.

It was amazing that in a life or death situation he was still capable of achieving such a mocking attitude. Victor ignored him and continued forward, racing toward the end of the hall and turning left. I knew where he was headed now, but I couldn’t figure out why. I didn’t see how the cafeteria was going to provide the kind of cover we needed. I heard a loud whooshing noise as Victor threw us both against the wall. Another fireball went sailing down the hallway and crashed into some lockers. We moved forward a few feet then took a left, rushing through the doors of the cafeteria. I really hoped we weren’t going to hide in there. In my mind, a high school kitchen in the middle of the night was the perfect setting for a mass murder. The kitchen was exactly where Victor went.

“Are these ovens gas or electric?” he asked, setting me down next to him.

“Are you serious? I have no idea.”

All I could think about was when the next fireball was going to hit. He didn’t seem to be listening to me, though. Tie still held Angie over his shoulder while she continued to squawk. “Electric,” Victor muttered. “That’s not gonna work.” “

Burning it wouldn’t have killed it, Vicky”

“It would have slowed it down.”

“Guys, shut up and listen,” Angie shouted, smacking Tie on the back to emphasize the urgency in her tone. “Do you hear that?”

The immediate silence that followed was deafening. Then…

Click click. Click click.

The sound was directly above us.

“What was that?” she asked.

Click click. Click click.

I had no idea what it was, but it sounded horrifically familiar. I looked up at the ceiling and waited for the sound to come again.

Click cl…

Victor pushed me roughly to the floor while simultaneously pulling out a strange looking crossbow.

Where had he been hiding that thing?

He aimed for the ceiling and shot with practiced precision before the clicking sound had even finished. The arrow ripped through the ceiling, and a loud, pain filled screech erupted immediately afterward. A scorched, mega-sized paw with huge claws reached through the hole above us. Victor scooped me up again, and we were running back the way we’d come.

“All you did was piss it off, you know,” yelled Tie from behind us.

“And slowed it down. It won’t be able to track us for a while now.”

Claws. That thing had claws, and they were nasty looking. I was freaking out.

The Healer is not your average YA Paranormal romance full of longing, shallow kids not doing much of anything, especially not paying attention to the world around them.  No, this story follows Hope who is secretly able to heal others, and is even more than her loved ones imagined.  She enjoys helping by using her gift, and truly shows compassion and understanding beyond her years.  I also felt that her father’s protectiveness made sense, rather than seeming overbearingly stereotypical.  As the action picks up, the plot flows right along, without those annoying holes you find in less interesting novels.  C.J. Anaya has a wonderful way of bringing you into Hope’s world and her story without making you trudge through laborious explanations of how and why things are as they are presented.  Certainly not immature in quality or content, this books could be enjoyed for those thirteen to one hundred thirteen, and I’d recommend it to fantasy lovers everywhere!  5 stars

Excerpt
Thank you so much for hosting me on your blog today! I have a little excerpt for you. In this scene, Kitty has just realized there’s something a little

off with the girl who just rode off with the President’s son, Jacob.

“This is Draco Three. Probable threat.”
“What -” Sani begins. I cut him off with a glare and, within half of a heartbeat, a confused
realization dawns on his face. “In Midday Sun’s car. Now.” I don’t say much, but it’s enough
for my contact, whose name I don’t actually know.
He pauses for maybe three seconds. It feels like an eternity. “Communication with the
agents in the car is down. Can you pursue on foot?”
I start running at the word “down” and I’m already halfway down the driveway with Sani
at my side when I say, “Pursuing.”

“Secure Midday Sun,” my contact orders. “At all costs.”
“Understood.” I don’t bother hanging up before dropping both the phone and my
backpack on the grass. Sani has already shed his pack.
The car is gaining speed on the main road, but traffic is keeping it from escaping
completely. I can run about twenty miles an hour for several miles. Sani is faster. He’s holding
back to stay with me. “Go!” I yell.
I know he wants to argue, but I’m not his friend right now. I’m his superior. To his credit,
he doesn’t hesitate longer than the time it takes for a single step. His stride lengthens. It’s a matter
of seconds before he’s halfway between me and the car.
The front half of the black town car explodes in a fireball. My lungs are working
overtime and I gulp in the acrid scent of burning rubber and gasoline. Tires all around us squeal
as brakes are slammed. Somewhere to my left, a roaring crunch echoes the explosion, as two
more cars collide in a less explosive way.
Dominic pops out of the sun roof, somehow looking confused and focused at the same
time. He has his side-arm in his right hand and I dare to hope the Secret Service has control of
the situation. But, somewhere inside me, I know better.
Dominic raises his gun and takes aim at Sani, who’s fifty feet from the car. He fires four
shots.
I let loose a primal roar as a bullet rips through Sani’s left bicep. His shoulder jerks back
at the impact, but his steps don’t even falter.

A sweet YA paranormal romance might not sound very exciting, but what if I told you there are were-dragons and secret spy missions involved? Enticing right?! That’s how I felt and boy was I pleasantly surprised to find that Dragons Are People, Too is written with a unique sense of humor, and without all the teenage angst or adult condescension that I’ve come to dislike in modern YA fiction.  Kitty is a fairly strong character, and thought at times I found her inner dialogue/thoughts on Sani to be a bit overdramatic or overly concentrated on physical features, I felt that her connection to him (and other characters) was plausible and even realistic.  Teenagers are certainly driven by impulses, though not necessarily as much in action as in thought.  Overall this was an enjoyable read with fun twists, and a great series opener with lots of potential.  4 solid stars!

About CARESS OF Pleasure

I’d thought that he was mine, the dark, arresting man who commanded not only my body but my heart. Dante had swept into my life, and I’d succumbed to the burn of passion in his arms.

I’d believed we had a love that would last forever, but he’d shattered my dreams and broken me into pieces when he’d walked away, taking a piece of my soul with him.

Now he has come back seeking my help, and though I try to keep my distance and protect my heart, I cannot deny that the fire between us burns hotter than ever. And I cannot help but fear that this time our passion will reduce us both to ashes.

Julie Kenner is known for melting panties with a few keyboard strokes, and Caress of Pleasure is no exception.  A scintillating, scorching read full of passion and furious thoughts, this short story will satisfy your craving for hot paranormal encounters!  Brenna is the kind of woman we all want to have in our corner, even if she’s made some mistakes in the past and held onto some grudges for too long.  Dante is the super hero we all want, the friend everyone needs, and the lover every woman dreams of.  Not that he’s Mr. Perfect either.  These two can’t be expected to have a normal relationship, and given their history, detailed even in this brief glimpse into their world, we wouldn’t expect anything more than a case of unrequited love and one night of passion.  You’ll just have to read for yourself to find out if that’s actually what happens.
5 blazing hot stars

I also get the jokes. Lancelot is a play on the words lance and lot, and a lance refers to a sword, which is a euphemism for dick. What does a man do with his dick? He fucks. A lot. So if my name is Lansing Lotte, I must be “fucking lot.” Get it? Fucking a lot? Which I’m not saying I don’t, that’s not the point. Another reference to something sexual. Get my point? Huh, I made a punny. But again this is my story, and I haven’t done anything funny. In fact, I’ve killed three women, and only one of them I loved. Yeah, that’s right? Not laughing now. It’s not funny. And I’m definitely no fucking hero.

Character Introduction: Lansing Lotte

Paisley Belle reporting for Guitar Central. Today’s interview is with Lansing Lotte, guitar hero for the award winning rock band, The Nights. Despite the recent tragedy for The Nights, I was able to sit down with Mr. Lotte in a small coffee shop down the street from his historical home in New York City. Perkins Vale, drummer, and Tristan Lyons, bass guitarist, will be joining us soon, but with the few private minutes alone, I begin my inquiry.

Let’s start with how you got into music?

L: My mother was the most instrumental in my introduction to the guitar. Pardon the pun. She was what you’d call laid back, a naturalist, almost hippy-like. Music surrounded us and she eventually taught me to play on a 1931 Gibson L-I Flattop. I still have that guitar all these years later.

Speaking of family, we understand you’ve had a rather unusual upbringing.

L: (growing fidgety) I don’t typically talk about it, but yes, Vivian DuLac is not my natural mother. Yes, I did inherit Logres Construction.

Lansing remains silent for a moment, reflective, and I decide to move on.

Tell me about your nickname: The Lady Killer.

L: (flinches at first, but then relaxes, pushing his longer bangs off his forehead) Yeah, well, I’m okay with the ladies (a sly crooked smile begins and those blue eyes sparkle), but I’ve been known to make a few mistakes, break a few hearts. Maybe one too many. (sighs).

Broken hearts, what about being a hero?

L: (sitting up straighter and continuing to fidget with the coffee cup in front of him) I wouldn’t say I’m a hero. I did what anyone would do. I have…a connection…to the little girl. I needed to get to her.

(Raising my eyebrow) A connection, how?

L: (smiling deeper) It’s a long story (laughs).

Well, tell me the story of the band. How did you all come together?

L: I met Arturo when we were teenagers; he’s two years older than me. It was a fight over a girl (he looks away for a moment). Anyway, met Perkins in the woods one summer. We just sort of clicked. He’s a natural on the drums. Met Tristan after Arturo went to college. We just gel, a band of brothers.

(I soften my tone) And speaking of brothers, how are you all holding up with the news of Arturo?

L: What news?

Well, the recent events surrounding Arturo and his…

L: There is no news. All we know is Arturo was in an accident. I’m sure you’ve seen the images. Graphic. Disturbing. But we are still hoping for the best. He’s been spotted sporadically, but we don’t have any definite leads. What we do know, is if Arturo King were dead, we would all feel it. Our connection is that strong. If one goes, we would know it.

In an attempt to change directions, I ask: How is Guinevere DeGrance?

L: Why?

I’m taken aback for a moment and then he continues.

L: I apologize. Guinevere is holding up the best she can. Obviously this has all been quite a blow to her. She’s been through a lot, but she’s a strong woman. She’ll make it through this. She has me. She has the band. We are all there for one another.

There for each other, but who is there for you, specifically? (winking)

L: (seeming to relax). Someone amazing is there for me. I didn’t see her coming, but she means everything to me. She’s changed my life, literally. It’s a new chapter for me, and I’m looking forward to where this will lead (smiles deeply).

I can feel the exciting energy for his unspoken new love interest, but I decide not to pry further.

Okay, can you comment on your world tour being cancelled?

L: We had to cancel. We won’t continue without Arturo, so we decided to wait. The fans have been understanding. We are still working on finishing the album, and looking forward to a release tentatively in August. We appreciate everyone’s support for Arturo and we are certain he feels the love they keep sending out to him.

Anything you want to say to your fans?

L: We love you. Thanks for your support. We’re sticking together, no worries. You can keep up to date with all things The Nights on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/737318906359166/

At that point, a beautiful blonde woman and a little girl dressed in a ladybug costume enter the coffee shop. Lansing’s attention shifts immediately and the little girl waves to him. He winks at her and she giggles in response. I don’t miss that his eyes wander up to the woman who waits patiently in line for coffee, not acknowledging him. The weight of the Lady Killer’s attention must be too much, because she turns toward us, and slowly smiles at Mr. Lotte. I’ve seen that look before on a few ladies of society. This one definitely has more-than-a-crush on the rock star sitting before me, but I can tell by the look on his face, he feels the same way about her.

There’s no sign of Perkins Vale or Tristan Lyons, but I can’t wait to get the nitty-gritty on the quiet member of the band, Perkins. That giant drummer has some secrets, and I can’t wait to learn them next.

Title: Neophyte’s Tale

Author: CK Dawn

Publication Date: May, 2015

Abbey Thorne hears voices. Well, one voice repeating one word, over and over again. Soft and sweet with the promise of power, it calls to her. The twelve-year-old has no idea that the tender little word is actually a catalyst that serves to reveal a world hidden to most humans. Abbey has yet to discover that following the word’s call to its origin will change the course of her life forever.

Abbey and her mother don’t have much, and depending on the day, sometimes they don’t even have a roof over their heads. She wants more out of life than just wondering where her next meal will come from. So she shouldn’t be wasting her time daydreaming about going on a selfish quest… or should she? Does she have the strength to leave behind what little she has? Will she have the courage to break through the illusions surrounding her and lift the cloak of shadows?

Author PicAuthor Bio:

Coffee lover, gamer girl, Sci-fi enthusiast, and overall crafty individual, CK Dawn graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Interior Design and a minor in Architecture (I know, right?). Loving to be creative but feeling stifled by invoices, custom orders, and curtain patterns, she decided instead to follow her favorite philosophy: if you do what you love you’ll never work a day in your life. So, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… she finally decided to pick one of the stories that had been bouncing around in her head and boom, Cloak of Shadows came to life.

CK lives with the love of her life John, his cat Scout, her cat Hagrid, their mutually adopted and socialized feral kitten Pepper (yes, cats have favorite humans. It’s a thing), and their dog Diesel (aka Methane– Please, don’t make her explain).

She credits her mother for the strong independent woman she is, her father for her inner peace and beautiful outlook on life, and the summers of sweaty, manual labor on her grandparents’ farm for her strong work ethic.

In writing, CK has truly found her bliss. Stay tuned, because there will be a lot more to come in her Netherwalker series. Seriously, things have only just begun.
